When should I book my maternity session?

It is recommended that you book your maternity session as soon as possible. This will allow us enough time to plan your session and make sure we have everything we need in time. Sessions are typically held between 32-36 weeks.

What should I wear?

Cloud 9 Photography has several maternity gowns to choose from. If time allows and you are looking for a particular color or style, I will do my best to locate a dress to meet your vision. A variety of flower crowns (haku) are also available.

Where are the sessions held?

Maternity sessions are held at an outdoor location.

​

Do you include family members to participate in the maternity shoot?

Yes. Spouses, children, and grandparents maybe be included in the session. The session is focused on the mother, but Cloud 9 Photography believes it is important to also include family if they so choose.

Newborns

​

When should I book my newborn session?

It is recommended that you book your session as soon as possible. Most momma's book during their second or third trimester.

Booking early is always recommend as Cloud 9 photography takes a limited number of sessions per month.

How do you determine my session date?

Your session is booked based off of your due date. Within 48 hours after the birth of your baby, contact Cloud 9 Photography and an exact session date will be scheduled ideally within babies first 8-18 days.

What happens at the pre-session consultation?

This is where we begin the custom portrait experience. We talk about the colors in your home, the decor, and what walls in your home you'd like to display your fine art portraits. The Newborn guide that you will receive upon booking with C9P, will include information on what to expect during and after your session, what to bring, what to wear, etc...

When will the session take place?

The session takes place approximately 8-18 days after the arrival of your baby.

Where will the session take place?

Newborn sessions are held in our studio located in the Calallen area. Newborn sessions start promptly at 9:30am and are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Newborn sessions are NOT available on the weekend.

What do I need to bring to the session?

We provide the props and outfits for your newborn. However, if you have an item that is special to your family that you would like to include in a few pictures, please bring it with you to your session. Please be sure to mention this during your session planning at the pre-session consultation so that I can approve the item and to make sure I am prepared to incorporate this special item during your session.

Are you up to date on your vaccinations?

Yes. Your baby's health is the utmost importance, and therefore, I have received and maintain all recommended vaccines, including the newly suggested measles vaccine!

Do I have to provide the outfits for my child?

No, all newborn outfits and accessories are provided by the studio. Color schemes and styles are predetermined at the pre-session consultation. If you have a special outfit you would like to incorporate just let me know during your pre-session consultation and as long as it fits my brand I don't mind your bringing it along.

How long is the session?

Depending on your newborn as well as the package you choose Sessions last anywhere from 45 minutes (mini/wrapped session) to 2-3  hours (Full Newborn session) and includes time for feedings, soothing, and diaper changes.

 Family, Maternity, & Milestone 

​

Where are sessions held?

 Family, Senior, Milestone and Maternity sessions are held outdoors. Newborn sessions are held in Studio. 

​

How long does the session last?

Family, Senior,  and Maternity Sessions typically last about an hour. Depending on the flow of the session, it may last slightly shorter or longer then the hour timeframe. Newborn Sessions last 45 minutes - 3 Hours (depending on package)  and Milestone sessions last 30 minutes -1 hour depending on little one.

What should we wear to the session?

No need to stress about what to wear for your session. At the pre-session consultation, I will provide you with some guideline to make sure you and your family are looking your best. I am also available to provide you with guidance and support when making wardrobe selections before the session. Expecting mamas are more than welcome to use dresses and Haku leis from my client closet if they would like.

What if it rains? 

Sometimes the weather in Texas is unpredictable and unfortunately reschedules do sometimes happen. I will be watching the weather reports closely in the days leading up to your session. If weather looks unpromising on the day of your session we will make the decision to either proceed with or reschedule your session by no later than 3:30PM.

Do you offer Prints, Canvases and products?

YES! We do!!!

​

As a courtesy to my clients, Cloud 9 Photography offers the option to purchase heirloom prints and products for your home. However,  There is NO OBLIGATION to purchase prints from me BUT if you would like professionally printed/calibrated images from my Pro lab that you do not otherwise have access to,  I do offer this service.. 

 

If you decide to order prints through C9P I will assure you that from your pre-session consultation to the session, each decision is made with the final display in mind. The products offered are of the highest quality and meant to last for generations. We will work together to select the best images and select the perfect way to display your fine art portraits in your home.

**Please keep in mind that prints ordered through MY lab are guaranteed for color match- I cannot guarantee prints from other labs will come out with the same colors as I have only my work color matched to the Pro Lab I use**
